Enzymes are the spark of life. Many chemical actions and reactions within the body that are necessary for daily biological function can't happen without enzymes. Enzymes are divided into two categories: Digestive Enzymes and Systemic Enzymes.
Digestive Enzymes naturally occur in all your veggies, fruits, grains, and nuts. The problem is that we heat them when we prepare them for our meals. Heating any food over 120 degrees Fahrenheit deactivates the enzymes it contains. Taking a high quality digestive enzyme with cooked or processed foods is a good way to ensure adequate digestion and absorption.
Systemic Enzymes sometimes called proteolytic enzymes aren't used for digestion. They are taken instead to be absorbed into the blood stream to used to promote and enhance a myriad of healthy chemical reactions within the body.
